Oaf: 2016 Tour Tape cassette Hot on Sale

Excellent follow up to their 7 that Derenaged put out. Ugly, noisy and heavy as fuck. final offering unfortunately

Our take: Three song tour tape from this Canadian band, and unfortunately it looks like it s going to be their final release. On this release in particular, Oaf remind me of a mix of Blazing Eye and Hoax. Like Hoax, they rely on S&M imagery in their graphics and lyrics (like Submit ) and they have a similar mid-range-heavy guitar sound. However, they rely heavily on that pogo beat that Blazing Eye have all but patented, and the singer has a little bit of the G.I.S.M. Zouo vibe that the singer from Blazing Eye has as well. I doubt that those bands are heavy influences on Oaf as they re more contemporaries than progeny, but if you like the dark, metallic sound of those two bands it s not too late to grab this and their 7 on Deranged.
